Who We Are

Peace in the Wild (PITW) reconnects Black communities to nature through outdoor recreation. We dismantle barriers by providing accessible, hands-on experiences in nature that build skills, foster community, and strengthen environmental stewardship. Our vision is for these communities to be fully represented and empowered to explore, enjoy, and protect the outdoors for generations to come.

What We Do

We host monthly outdoor adventures on both land and water, centered around education, community, and conservation. Our activities include kayaking, surfing, hiking, rock climbing, biking, and clean-up events. Additionally, we collaborate with mission-aligned eco-businesses to support the local economy and sustainability efforts. We welcome participants of all skill levels, ages, and abilities, ensuring equitable outdoor access.

“Exploring and conserving the great outdoors, one adventure at a time.”

- Taylor Crenshaw, Founder
